Wildlife Photo Exhibit

Recent visitors to Lake Erie Nature & Science Center have noticed some wild and beautiful new photos gracing our walls, as photographer James T. Walczak exhibits some of his best work. You may recognize some of the animals in the pictures since many of them are residents of Lake Erie Nature & Science Center. Come check out the photos ... then, compare to the "real thing." James also happens to be a volunteer at the Center. His exhibit will run through late summer/early fall.

Breathtaking, Beautiful Nature

We're back in business today after closing our doors for the ice storm yesterday. Although it was tough sledding on the roads, wasn't it beautiful to look at the sunlight sparkling through the glazed tree branches? Hope you were able to snap some pictures to preserve the memory.
Another great nature-inspired photography contest is up on the National Widlife Federation's website. If nature's gray side is getting on your nerves, check out the breaktaking beauty of nature for a lift! Photographers in the contest captured some especially stunning photos of wildlife and/or their habitat, like this picture from further north in Canada.

Britain's Telegraph newspaper has more of the finalists posted online. Details on Lake Erie Nature & Science Center's animal-inspired Art Contest can be found on our website.

Autumn Brings "Spring Songbirds" to the Center

Selected prints from the popular "Brian Zwiebel's Spring Songbirds" exhibit are now on display at the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center. This traveling exhibit from the National Center for Nature Photography will remain at the Center through October 2007. Many of the breathtaking close-ups were shot right here in Ohio in places like the Magee Marsh, a renowned birding hot spot along western Lake Erie. Read more about how this award-winning photographer captures his special images.
